Mercy College

Tutors help students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for course material. They help students improve study habits, prepare for exams, review writing assignments, help improve note-taking skills, and much, much more. Tutors are available for nearly every subject. If you are unable to find someone to help with your course, contact the Tutor Coordinator.

Tutors are available through Microsoft Teams, email, and phone. Contact a tutor directly to request an appointment. Click on Request Tutor below for a full list of our tutors.

Who are the tutors at Mercy College?

Some tutors are current or graduated students, and some are professional educators. Our tutors are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. View our tutor biographies to learn more about them!

How do I access online tutoring?

To access Smarthinking online tutoring, login to D2L and click on the "online tutoring" icon in the top banner.  Start working with a tutor in a live drop-in session, schedule a future session, submit a question, or explore the study aids that are available 24/7.

What should I expect from a tutoring session?

Come prepared with all necessary course materials, including textbooks, assignment details, and class notes so your tutor is familiar with the content. Together you'll review information and narrow down what you need help with. You can work with a tutor once, twice, or as many times as you need to help you be successful in your courses.

Can I become a tutor?

If you have study skills that you can share with other students and you are passionate about teaching and learning, consider becoming a tutor! If you are interested, contact Lyneene Richardson or complete an application at
